Gorgeous 🌻🌻🌻 Kendalls mother loves sunflowers so I got her some seed when I got my vegetable seed. I've never grown any. I sent you an email about the yellow flowers. I've never had dandelion greens but I've always wanted to try them. Did you know you can eat the shoots off of catbriers? It tastes a little bit like raw asparagus. I was showing Kendall what sourweed tastes like the other day & she likes it like I did. When we were kids we'd chew on sourweed & eat Indian pepper.

I let Kendall try all of that but I wish she had more girl cousins her age. I have a niece her age but my brother works away from home & they're usually together. I was so lucky growing up in the cousin department. Trying V8 sounds good to me. I haven't had that in a while. Mustard greens are related to Kale & Collards. They have a peppery taste. To cook them from fresh greens (the only way I eat them) always wash them a couple of times. Then slice them up coarsely after you cut off

the ends & thick stems & any leaves that are wilted or otherwise yucky. Then fry onions up in chopped bacon until they're soft, drain the grease & add the mustard greens on top of them & cover with a lid & add more as they wilt in the pot, stirring some. After they're all in add a cup & a half of water, salt & pepper to taste, add red pepper flakes if you wish, cover & simmer about an hour. Stir occasionally. Serve with cornbread. always used Trappeys. And that's that. Personally, I don't use onions. And some people sautee the greens for 15-20 min. & add them to the cooked onions/bacon, then use what we call pot liquor, which is the water the greens were sautéed with, after combining everything. And enjoy! And with that I'll close & get back to the garden. 🙂❤️
