This is so Pretty, I love yellow flowers, here in Florida we have wild flowers that grow on the sides & middle of highways & roads & they're my favorite, yellow with a brown middle. Elephant who found a mom. I've got so attached to the orphans, my favorites Mbegu, Ndotto & Luggard (Luggard died a few months ago) I read the Keepers Diary every month to keep up with my favorites. Here's a story for you: I used to smoke, & when I quit I got this overwhelming desire for licorice. I ate it like crazy. Afterwards I heard that it's recommended for withdrawals from nicotine. It really made me think about nature & our role in it & so on. Then I read a story on the SWT site abt

a wounded orphan. She was receiving conventional medical treatment but not doing well, so they contacted a woman named Caroline Ingraham, who treats animals by allowing them to select their own meds in the form of plants, oils, algae, clay, etc. It's called Zoopharmacognosy. She did some research & brought clay & oils from plants african elephants are known to use to self medicate. One of the oils was garlic oil & that's important because it's known to kill bad bacteria & she let Sinya smell

what she had & she couldn't get enough of the oil. When her wounds had to be cleaned she would use twice as much as on a normal day. She healed rapidly from there on out & lost interest in the garlic oil when she was better. They still use alot of the things Caroline recommended, the green clay for wounds especially. That's fascinating to me esp because of my experience with the licorice. I don't think we've lost protective instincts because of that & it's alot of food for thought. Anyway, I
