Beautiful Birds challenge hosted by Susan Bird. The Wedge-tailed eagle is Australia’s largest bird of prey, with a wingspan of around 2.3 metres. These raptors feed mainly on small animals (eg rabbits) & carrion, but can also hunt in teams to bring down large animals (eg kangaroos),

Fabulous action picture of this beautiful wedge-tailed eagle, Karmac! Wonderful coloring! The Wedge-tailed Eagle has an extremely large range: it’s found throughout mainland Australia, Tasmania and southern Papua New Guinea. It prefers wooded areas and open forests, but can be found in coastal and alpine regions. It’s seldom seen in rainforests or coastal heaths. Thank you for sharing this beautiful eagle and for joining the Beautiful Bird Challenge. I missed you! Welcome back!
