Good morning π My daughter had something called a celiac plexus nerve block yesterday which was a diagnostic test her surgeon wanted her to do before the surgery. The idea is that if thatβs successful, itβs more likely the surgery will be successful in alleviating her pain. The block was successful, which weβre thrilled about, but it was quite the ordeal. The pain and sedation meds didnβt kick in until the dr was done. He also had trouble doing it so she had to go thru it twiceβ¦

1 year agoβ¦(front and back) and every time he hit her nerve she was in excruciating pain. This went on for 30 min. She said it was the worst pain she has ever felt and was crying it hurt so bad. Having said all that, she was happy to have no MALS pain the rest of the day and to know that more than likely the surgery will work. |

1 year agoOh my goodness, they should have knocked her out completely beforehand. Iβve had two done and was put under for both. Iβm glad it worked, but there is no excuse for her to have beer awake.

1 year agoI'm so sorry that she experienced so much pain. I can't imagine how you felt knowing she was in pain. However, I'm glad that this procedure was, in the long run, successful, giving you more confidence going into next months big procedure and hopefully, they'll have better control of her pain after the surgery.

1 year agoYour poor daughter. I am with Susie why didnβt they knock her out completely. That would be horrendous . But I am glad οΏΌit was successful. I wish her a quick recovery . May she have a pain free life ahead. And I wish you all the best too . Itβs not easy as a mum watching them in pain . β€οΈβ€οΈπ
