In the early hours of January 31st, we held her and watched as she peacefully went on without us. Part of my heart left with her. Coloring her photos seem to help me hurt a little less. My beautiful, beautiful girl. 😢🌈🐕💔

My beloved cats took a piece of me with them too. How I wish our beloved pets had much longer lives because they're such unconditionally loving lights in ours. I read an article about pet grief and how real it is, how long it can go on & the stigma and fear that results in many feeling they must keep it hidden. That’s definitely true. I’m grateful for RC, one of the few places where I’m comfortable with expressing it. It’s so great to feel no one will judge me for something I can’t help. Instead, everyone is supportive and caring. I love you, my friends and I’m here for you also. 🤗💖😊

1 year agoyou're welcome, my amazing friend. That article is right on. I hid my grief because back then I didn't have RC, & my family was so wrapped up in their own lives I don't think it occurred to them that something really devastating had happened to me when I lost both at nearly the same time. I lost it, then just kind of pulled myself together with a huge hole that took ten years to heal. I was there for them when two different family pets were lost in the last year in their lives though.
