Beautiful Bird Challenge. Hosted by Susanβ€Bird RC's Bird expert!
The RAGGIANA Bird of Paradise. They live in the southeast area of New Guinea. They enjoy eating fruits, berries, insects, frogs and small reptiles. In the 20s they were close to extinction caused by the timber industry. And of course by man who killed them for their feathers for ceremonies. Thank you for stopping by and leaving β€s and critiques! πΎππΎ

I never knew there was an actual bird of paradise- sort of looks like the flower too
Gorgeous Raggiana Bird of Paradise, Patty! Fantastic coloring! Great bio, too! The Raggiana bird-of-paradise (Count Raggi's bird-of-paradise) is the national bird of Papua New Guinea. It is distributed widely in southern and northeastern New Guinea. It is polygamous. Males display to compete for females in leks. Once they mate, males search for another mate and females cover all nest building and chick rearing duties. Thank you for sharing it and for joining the Beautiful Bird Challenge.
